It seems that the world is full of mistakes. Some small, some big. But how would you consider the mistake that Microsoft did when it posted by mistake the prices for their upcoming operating system, Vista?
Vista will be available in January 2007 if all goes fine and if Microsoft will drop enough features to release it on time. Feature after feature was dropped and what was supposed to make Vista great is no longer part of Vista.
The prices appeared on Microsoft Canadian website for a small time but it was enough for the world to have a glimpse on what Microsoft has in store for us.
The Canadian prices start at about US$233 for a basic home edition and go up to US$449 for Vista Ultimate edition. Of course, US prices can be expected to be slightly lower than in Canada but we’re not sure.
Taking into account that are about 1 billion Windows PC in the whole wide world, in 2007 Microsoft will probably make a fortune. One billion computers with a medium price of $250 for a Vista version puts Microsoft in a position to earn $250 billion from Vista. Not really bad.
This money will come either if you buy a new computer or if you upgrade you XP license. This makes Microsoft revenues raise and the investors very happy.
