If yesterday we were reporting about Microsoft Vista prices leaked on Microsoft Canada website, today we can present you the final prices that appeared on Amazon.
We consider Amazon a site that doesn’t speculate so I will take for granted that the prices they posted on the website come from Microsoft.
Here are the prices listed on Amazon. In the brackets is the price you will pay if you want to upgrade to Windows Vista.
- Windows Vista Home Basic $399($259)
- Windows Vista Business $299($199)
- Windows Vista Home Premium $239($159)
- Windows Vista Home Basic $199 ($99.95)
To make things more beautiful it seems that Vista will be shipped on January 30th.
“Availability: This item will be released on January 30, 2007″ was posted on Amazon as availability.
This means that Bill Gates was right and indeed Vista will miss the holiday season but will be released at the beginning of 2007. So, the 80% chances for Vista to be available in January 2007 just got bigger.
Microsoft tries to launch Vista as soon as possible because there are a lot of money involved. The company has announced that it is investing a total of nearly $1 billion USD into the launch of Windows and Office which means that will try to launch Vista and Office as they know (at least their marketing machine is still rolling).
They will probably turn Vista’s release into a holiday.
I think that Easter holiday will be the best moment for release
