WII Cake Could Be Eaten Earlier?

It seems that Nintendo WII could be released earlier than PS3.

Everybody is now talking about Nintendo Wii. And since everybody is talking, Nintento is keeping the suspense around its next-gen console to keep the pressure.

But their secret seems to be found. Already in production, WII could be released earlier. Why? Because Microsoft released XBOX after it 70 days (actually 69, yeah I know) after is started manufacturing the console.

So, if WII is already in manufacture process we could see a earlier release that we expected. Or Nintendo will try to create enough consoles before the launch so they don’t run short on Christmas.

These could be a supposition, but some industry insiders, who asked not to be named, said they too are expecting a September or October launch for the Wii. Nintendo said that the release date and several other goodies about its next-gen console would be revealed at Leipzig, with the occasion of Game Convention held in Leipzig between August 24th and 27th.

Considering that each console sold out fast at the time of release, it is obvious that Nintendo will either have a lot of consoles and will try to prevent Microsoft and Sony mistakes or will launch WII earlier than expected.

Pricing for the Wii remains a question mark, but the most likely price points are $199 or $249. That would put it considerably below the PS3, which will sell two versions for $499 and $599. Microsoft is not expected to cut the prices of the two versions of the Xbox 360, which currently cost $299 and $399.

Considering the price and the hype around WII, it is clear that Nintendo will try to make a nice figure at day one. They are preparing something big and they will try to take as much hype before the release.

What about the game? You wanna know about the games that will be available to WII?

“The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” and “Metroid Prime 3: Corruption” – the latest installments in two of the company’s premier franchises – will be available on day one. A new Mario game – “Super Mario Galaxy” – is deep in development, but will most likely come out after the Wii has launched. And this is only the top of the iceberg.

But as soon as we will find out more news we will get back to you.
