Webzen, one of the most successful developers from Korea, producer of Mu Online, one of Asia’s most popular massively multiplayer online games will appoint a new CEO for their US subsidiary.
And it seems that the person that will be nominated for this job will be Cindy Armstrong, former vice president for business development at Sony Online Entertainment. There she was responsible for promoting and exporting publisher’s product line to foreign markets, especially to Asia.
All these things made her the perfect candidate for the job.
And here are some statements:
“Ms. Armstrong has the perfect pedigree to lead Webzen America and firmly establish the company in this critical territory,” said CEO NamJu Kim.
“Her industry knowledge, business development expertise and international expansion experience make her tremendously qualified to help Webzen meet its goal of becoming a leading online game company in all major markets worldwide.”
Armstrong added: “Joining as Webzen is on the verge of becoming a powerhouse online games company in this market is an exciting and incredible opportunity. The suite of online games Webzen has slated for the US is truly unmatched by any other publisher.”
It seems that many key people from SOE are leaving, searching something new. Could this mean something?
