VMware announced the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Alliance.
As this seems to be a good time for building up all kind of new alliances, VMware has managed to get together companies like IBM, HP, Hitachi and Sun in order to help the company to promote its virtualization solutions.
The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Alliance is a technology alliance of hardware, software and service providers for building joint virtual desktop offerings. The VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure is meant to provide IT administrators with the possibility to host and centrally manage desktop virtual machines in their data center while offering end users a full desktop experience that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.
VMware plans to actually collaborate with each member of the alliance in order to create, test and integrate joint desktop hosting offerings based on the company’s virtual infrastructure and the partner’s hardware and software product.
This strategic alliance is meant to increase profit for all the members involved. Otherwise said “Help me, help you!‿
