Named WD Passport, the newest pocket hard drive can hold up to 6GB of information. Its size is: 61mm long, 45.7mm wide. It weights around 50g, so very easy to lose.
WD Passport has a 3600RPM hard drive with an 8.3ms average latency and features a 2MB buffer. The seek time for read operations is about 11ms and track-to-track is about 1.0ms on average.
The WD Passport is available for purchase from most online retailers for $129.
Western Digital also offers HDD that go beyond the 6GB, some even reach 16GB (for a premium price) and the advantage is that it’s rewriteable virtually indefinitely - where as typical pen drives do begin to corrupt after extensive writes.
There is only one problem: just don’t drop the slim HDD while writing, because WD didn’t release any drop detention for the drive.
