TDC Switzerland AG has commissioned Siemens to replace and expand its wide area network. The installation will enable the telecom provider to offer its customers the latest services with maximum scalability. The contract will run for three years.
In the future, the Swiss company will use the multi-service provisioning platform Surpass hiT 70xx from Siemens Communications. This will result in reduced internal costs for transmission services in the main network (backbone) as well as enable sunrise to offer its customers innovative new services.
Surpass hiT 70xx supports all types of voice, data and video applications based on the latest Ethernet and traditional TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) technology. These services will be available across the entire network and at every location. The multi-service provisioning platform is designed for the greatest scalability, so that all possible requirements – from customer access through to the central office – are covered by an optimal price-performance ratio.
New functions can be added in the future through software upgrades. In addition, the dedicated management system TNMS guarantees that services are provided quickly and operation is secure.
