SataBeast and Its 21TB

You read right. SataBeast, a product from Nexsan will be able to store up to 21TB of information.

With units like the SATABeast coming into play, IT managers should be able to take care of their exponentially growing storage needs without eating up all of their rack space.

The incredible storage density of the SATABeast, which holds 42 hard drives while only consuming 4U of rack space, should make it a popular target for disk backup and archive implementations.

The AutoMAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) allows SATABeast to place its disk drives to an idle state to conserve energy yet provide near-instantaneous access to data.

It allows up to 700MB/s sustained throughput speed, all active components are redundant and individually hot-swappable, it supports RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 3 and 5.

SATABeast’s NexScan management interface is built into the SATABeast controller, alleviating the need to have a separate server or application manage the storage array. This sophisticated management utility monitors and reports the status of all subsystems over a 10/100/1000-network port.

With all those 42 HDD, the AutoMAID technology and other features, this beauty will surely please any IT manager.
