Considering the development of the mobile phones and the need for more space, Samsung announced the availability of MMCmicro card.
While Samsung has the SGH-i310, a handset with 8GB HDD, it’s clear that something smaller had to be found.
The company’s new 2GB MMCmicro card allows users to store up to 12 hours of mobile video and offers transfer speeds up to three and a half times that of competing solutions. The tiny 12mm x 14mm x 1.1mm device operates at either 1.8 volts or 3.3V and can plug into any standard MMC slot with the use of an adapter.
While MicroSD had a writing speed of 2.04MB/s, Samsung MMCmicro has a writing speed of 7.12MB/s. The MicroSD reading speed is 7.10MB/s and Samsung reading speed is 7.38MB/s, so no big difference here.
They keep developing new things even the market doesn’t need them, but hey, who are we to argue?
