Cell Phones With Intel Inside

Published On 24th March 2006 @ 13:12 In Communications, Business | No Comments

Intel group responsible for the making of phones, notebooks and networking chips said that some Asian handset makers are going to put an Intel label on their, phones indicating that something inside that phone belongs to Intel

Currently the company does not have too much influence on the mobile phone market. There have been the BlackBerries from Research In Motion which had Intel chips inside but Texas Instruments holds a bigger share than Intel does on this market.

Mobile phone makers, same as PC makers, like adding Intel label to their products. As a result to this marketing scheme profits keep rising.

Intel has been trying to enter the mobile phone market for some time now but it kept failing achieving its goal. For the last year or so, the company has started signing contracts with different cellular makers, hoping to finally break through.

Actually, the mobile market is on a continuous move. With phone makers adding new features, Intel believes it has a lot more to gain as handsets are moving fast to a PC-phone combination. As Intel is a dominant member of the PC maker market, it hopes that with the arrival of the new phones, the company will gain more territory on the phone market as well.
