Do you actually remember the whole buzz created around Microsoft’s Origami project?

The whole world seemed to have focused on the CeBIT annual trade show from Hanover, Germany as Microsoft was expected to launch the big surprise called Origami.

Using Microsoft’s Origami concept, Samsung, the Korean based company has announced the launch of Q1 ultramobile PC for the next month, on May1.

Though Samsung has introduced the tiny tablet firstly at CeBIT , the device will be actually launched on the market in May, at a San Francisco based event.

On the other hand, there are Microsoft and Intel which also hope to release a device belonging to the same category, planning to make it cost in the end only several hundred dollars and have an all-day long battery included. Still, the first devices to be taken out on the market will have a quite expensive retail price and marketing research has shown that the masses are not going to fall for it as expected.

Samsung’s devices run Microsoft Windows XP, a customized version for PC tablets. They also include a special software for thumb typing and accessing media files.
