Nokia Siemens Networks will supply and implement Telekom Srbija GSM network extensions and 3G WCDMA network with HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) functionality and associated services.
The company started the deliveries in July, allowing Telekom Srbija to expand its mobile broadband network and to offer advanced and differentiating 3G WCDMA services to its more than 5 million customers.
It covers equipment delivery and installation, commissioning and integration of the system, comprising such solutions as a high speed radio network, next generation mobile core equipment and an extension of the prepaid system.
The tailor made package includes 3G radio and core equipment (Mobile Softswitching solution consisting of MSC Servers and Media Gateways) as well as an extension of the prepaid system. Due to this fact, Telekom Srbija can continue to offer new and advanced GSM and 3G WCDMA services to its customers and will be able to further increase network capacity.
GSM radio access networks delivered by Nokia Siemens Networks are connecting more than 1 billion subscribers globally.
Recently Telekom Srbija acquired Telekom Srpske (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and rolled out 2G/3G network in Montenegro, only 75 days after obtaining the license.
