If you loved All In Wonder products from ATI, now you have a problem. ATI will stop making AIW products.
At the recent Games Convention held in Germany, ATI released their latest roadmap. We have video cards like X1950 PRO (the successor of X1900XT) in the performance section and X1650XT for mainstream.
Radeon X1950 Pro replaces the current X1900GT and will be based on the RV570 core, which is one of ATI’s first 80nm products. Specifications of the RV570 core include 12 pipelines and 36 pixel shaders with a 600 MHz core clock. Memory will be clocked at 1.4 GHz and have a 256-bit interface. ATI claims performance of the Radeon X1950 Pro will be faster than the 7900GT. Those wanting to buy such a videocard will have their chance starting October.
Radeon X1650 Pro is based on the RV530 core and replaces the previous Radeon X1600XT. The Radeon X1650XT will be based on ATI’s upcoming RV560 core that like the RV570 is an 80nm part. It will also have 8 pipelines with 24 pixel shaders and go up against NVIDIA’s GeForce 7900GS. It will be available at the same time with X1950 Pro.
No AIW product on the roadmap. This means that ATI will cease production of the AIW series and that TV Wonder 650 will probably be the beginning of TV Tuner solution. This means that ATI will stop manufacturing AIW products and will create stand-alone video cards and TV tuner and not the two together.
