Nortel has created a VoIP Center of Excellence in Mexico City that will focus on delivering services required to order, provision, interconnect, and install VoIP and multimedia solutions for service providers and operators across the continent.
This initiative is designed to support convergence of voice and data networks into more efficient IP networks. Converged IP networks make it easier for service providers to reduce costs while delivering next generation services for ‘anytime, anywhere’ voice, video and multimedia collaboration. Nortel’s VoIP Center of Excellence will provide engineering support for current Nortel products, services and solutions and network architecture development.
“Nortel has an extensive services portfolio for its VoIP solutions, offering a complete range of carrier-grade products for long-distance, wireless and cable operators,” said Pablo Vázquez, president and general manager, Mexico and Mesoamerica, Nortel.
Nortel ranked number one in the global markets for service provider softswitches and gateways for the first half of 2005 and the entire year of 2004, according to Synergy Research Group.
