Asus introduced the P5B-V motherboard series, dedicated for both mainstream and digital home segments.
The new series is compatible with the recently launched Intel Core 2 processor and incorporates Intel Clear Video Technology for enhanced 3D and multimedia capabilities.
The Intel G965 Express Chipset enhances the gaming and multimedia experience with the integrated graphics engine, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3000. The Intel G965 Express features the Intel Clear Video Technology, which trailblazes new standards in high-definition video, crisp imaging, and accurate color control.
The P5B-V DH DELUXE/HDMI is a home entertainment solution that comes with a HDMI card onboard. In addition to supporting multiple audio formats, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) also enables digital video, such as HDTVs. By delivering audio and video via a single cable, HDMI simplifies cabling and provides consumers with the highest-quality home theater experience. With the bundled HDMI-to-DVI adapter, users can connect the P5B-V DH DELUXE/HDMI to DVI display with ease.
The series even comes with a remote control which can be used to to turn the computer on and off, activate suspend mode and access and manage the various digital home features offered by the P5B-V DH DELUXE/HDMI. Of course it provides conventional remote functions, such as volume control, play, pause, fast forward and rewind, as well.
The Asus motherboard series has also support for wireless LAN in both access point(AP) and wireless client modes. Even when the system sleeps the AP mode continues to connect devices in the WLAN for games, Internet access and printer functions sharing.
There are three available models in the new series: P5B-V DH Deluxe/DVI, P5B-VM and P5B-V. No price and availability are mentioned yet.
