Apple has decided that it’s time for upgrades for all its iPod family. After the bigger brother got increased storage space, brighter display, and longer battery life, the other two members of the family were not forgotten.

The middle brother, iPod nano, now comes in five different colors and three different storage capacities: 2GB, 4GB and 8GB. The latter, can store up to 2,000 songs on its internal memory. As with iPod, the iPod nano’s battery life has been increased to an incredible 24 hours of continuous audio playback.

The smallest member of the iPod family, the iPod shuffle managed to keep to its name and has now become the world’s smallest digital music player. At nearly half the size of the original, the new iPod shuffle weighs just 14g and the matchbook-sized aluminum casing has a built-in clip which makes it, in Apple’s words, the most wearable iPod ever.

As opposite to its size, the iPod shuffle’s internal storage has doubled to 1GB of flash memory and it’s capable of holding up to 240 songs. Of course, the small brother couldn’t be forgotten in terms of battery life, and now, the tiny digital music player can offer up to 12 hours of continuous playback.

Apple has thought of the iPod shuffle’s ease of usage and has added a clip for easy attaching to almost anything.

Both iPod nano and iPod shuffle now feature aluminum enclosures which makes them more durable and stylish. The iPod nano can be purchased for $149 (2GB model), $199 (4GB model) or $249(8GB model). The smaller iPod shuffle has a price of $79.
