Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Cisco Systems announced a technology collaboration agreement to give a boost to the ongoing enterprise trend of integration between networking and data center management.
Through bringing together core network, server, applications and storage components, the two companies will offer customers simplified integrated solutions and additional economic efficiency within the Dynamic Data Center environment. This integration will provide large enterprise customers with increased agility and continuity in the way that they deploy computing resources, delivering greater business efficiency to meet ever more demanding service levels.
Fujitsu Siemens will add Cisco Gigabit Ethernet switch capabilities to its PRIMERGY BX600 blade server range. In addition, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will make Cisco MDS 9000 Multilayer Directors and Fabric Switches available as components of its industry-leading Storage Solutions portfolio. These are integrated, pre-tested joint product solutions from Cisco Systems and Fujitsu Siemens Computers, available immediately.

Through more tightly integrating Cisco switches, Cisco and Fujitsu Siemens Computers have a shared vision that the Dynamic Data Center of the future will take shape as a result of full convergence of communications, server and storage infrastructures,” said Dieter Herzog, executive vice president, Enterprise Products at Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
Buck Gee, vice president and general manager, Data Center Business Unit, Cisco Systems stated: “With the integration of Cisco’s industry-leading technology into data center and storage solutions from Fujitsu Siemens, customers will be able to reduce data management cost and complexity through advanced security, high availability, fabric intelligence, investment protection, and advanced functionality such as Virtual SANs and Inter-VSAN Routing.”
