Alienware just announced new laptops from the Sentia and Area-51 series.
The Sentia model is a 14.1″ with webcam and can be powered by a Duo Core processor ranging from T2300 (1.66GHz) toT2600 (2.16GHZ). For motherboard you get Alienware IntelĀ® 945GM + ICH7 Chipset as for the memory you get to choose between 512 up to 2GB. The storage allows you a wide range like the 40GB SATA with 5400RPM up to a 100 GB SATA with 7200 RPM. The videocard is a Intel GMA 950 Extreme Graphics powering a WideXGA 1280 x 768 LCD. You also get a Intel 7.1 High-Definition Audio soundcard. For connectivity you have a bluetooth, three USB 2.0 ports and a firewire port.
Area-51 m5550 has almost the same features as the Sentra model. The only differences is that you get to choose between a 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 or a 256MB NVidia GeForce Go 7600. As for display, your options are a WideXGA 1280 x 768 LCD or a WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 LCD, both 15.4″.
Area-51 m5750 is the big brother of the series. So we have the same range of processors, same displays, same memory. The things that changed are the videocards where you can choose between a 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 or a 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1800. As for storage you can now choose a RAID 0 for extreme performance.
The Sentia model will start shipping July 10 and will have a price of $1099. The Area-51 model will start shipping July 24 and will have a price of $1399 for m5550 and $1499 for m5750.
