The number one search engine is getting new competition. Microsoft offers something more: twice as good as Google.
Microsoft has announced its intentions in creating a search engine that could become real competition for Google. In six months time the new search engine will come out on the United States and Britain markets, getting ready for the rest of Europe as well.
Its first main goal is to conquer the US markets where the Google is number one. Being better than what already exists does not assure the aimed success. People are very much used to Google therefore it seems difficult for Microsoft to achieve its intended goal. It is a well known fact that when searching a certain element, the returned results are mostly URLs that are not useful. The new search engine is expected to return mostly specific information, sorting it out during the searching process, making it easier for the user. So no more browsing through unwanted URLs.
The future launched Microsoft Vista will not include this new search engine. It will be integrated into Microsoft’s communication tools Windows Messenger and Hotmail.
