Linksys, a Division of Cisco Systems, announced the immediate availability of its WIP300 and WIP330 Wireless-G IP Phones, the first in a line of Wireless IP telephony products that will enable users to make low-cost Voice over IP (VoIP) calls through 802.11g wireless networks.
WiFi phones from Linksys enable high-quality VoIP service through a Wireless-G network and high-speed Internet connection. While both phones provide clear and reliable voice communication over broadband networks, users can select the appropriate phone and Voice over IP Service Provider for their specific needs.
The Linksys WIP300 Wireless-G IP Phone enables high-quality voice over IP (VoIP) service through a Wireless-G network and high-speed Internet connection. It operates in the 2.4GHz band, supports 802.11g and the latest VoIP SIP protocols. The display features an intuitive user interface enabling users to easily and quickly configure the handset using Secure Easy Setup (SES). SES is a fast, secure way of connecting the WIP300 Wireless-G IP Phone to a Linksys Wireless-G broadband router. The customer have to press the associated SES button on both devices and the connection will automatically be configured and secured with a custom SSID using powerful WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) encryption. Handset features include caller ID, call forwarding, call transfer, stores call history and can save 200 phone book entries.
The Linksys WIP330 Wireless-G IP Phone enables high-quality voice over IP (VoIP) service through a Wireless-G network and high-speed Internet connection. The handset features peer-to-peer dialing, speed dial, 3-way conferencing, call waiting, call transfer, and call forward, mute, hold and selectable ringtones. The large, full-color high resolution LCD display features an intuitive user interface enabling users to easily and quickly configure the handset when traveling within range of other Wireless-G networks so you can make VoIP calls wherever you go. You can also surf the Internet with the built-in web browser and can receive live video from anywhere in the world and view it on the phone when you access any web camera. Handset stores the last 20 call history records and can save 250 phone book entries.
Both the WIP330 and WIP300 require a broadband Internet connection, a wireless router or access point with DHCP server, and activated VoIP service. The WIP300 and WIP330 are available immediately with estimated street prices of $219.99 and $369.99 respectively.
