Microsoft Virus Information Alliance has a new member as Kaspersky Lab has joined the international program for sharing information on malicious code.
The main goal of this program is to provide users of Microsoft products with accurate information on new virus threats.
The program which started in 2003 has been a common effort for developing better solutions against threats like viruses, Trojans, worms, adware, hackers attacks or spam. The participant companies have been exchanging information on new virus threats or technology against this type of security issues.
Microsoft Virus Information Alliance has 10 top members from the antivirus vendors. The alliance is believed to be a bridge uniting companies in the fight against malicious programs detected. Once having entered the program, Kaspersky Lab is bound to share its information and data on each virus with the other companies involved.
The decision has been been taken due to the increasing number of attacks and to the wider spread network of attackers which have become more organized. Microsoft also believes that by making this program work, security could improve assuring a better protection against malicious attacks.
