Bethesda Softworks announced today that the well known actor Johnny Depp will lend his voice to Jack Sparrow.

I guess you know who Jack Sparrow is. No? You haven’t seen Pirated of the Caribbean? Well, Jack Sparrow is one guy from the movie. One of the good guys. The captain of the Black Pearl. Ex-captain.

Anyway, going back to Jack, it will be part of the upcoming videogame from Bethesda. Named Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow it will be released for June 27 for Playstation 2 and PC.

“We are thrilled to have Johnny Depp working on this project,” says Todd Vaughn, executive producer of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow. “We couldn’t imagine a better way to capture the spirit of the character than to have Depp lend his voice to Captain Jack Sparrow. It truly adds to an already rich gameplay experience.”

For his role on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl from 2004, Depp received a Best Actor Academy Award.

Returning to the game, it is developed by Seven Studios and Bethesda Softworks and distributed under license from Buena Vista Games. You will play as Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner as you slash and hack your way through fully interactive and immersive environments. The adventures are yours to experience first hand in this exciting action game that embodies the characters and settings of the popular films.
