Windows has recently announced that the awaited Internet Explorer 7 will come as a high-priority update via Automatic Updates
Popular browsers each struggle to release a new version. Mozilla has just released the beta version of the Firefox 2.0 browser and Microsoft has released the beta 3 version of its Internet Explorer 7 browser. Although Mozilla has not made a big fuss about the release of the new beta version, Microsoft, on the other hand, encouraged people to download and use its new browser version.
In order to further propagate the use of the new IE 7, Microsoft has announced that it will distribute IE 7 via its Automatic Updates system shortly after the final version is released for Windows XP.
More than that, the IE 7 update will be tagged as “high priority”. This way, Microsoft makes sure that as many Windows XP users as possible will install the new software.
With security as the top priority, new IE 7 will be the first major update to Microsoft’s web browser in five years and it comes to replace the old IE 6 version which had numerous security vulnerabilities in it.
Altough IE 7 will be “advertised” over Automatic Updates, people will be able to choose wheater they want to install it or not.
With IE 7 planned to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2006, all you have to do is too keep your Automatic Updates turned on and…wait.
