Intending to encourage its employees, IBM creates Internet radio shows about technology trends.
After encouraging its employees to write blogs, IBM is now creating Internet radio shows about technology. Podcasting “is a cheap form of communication; it’s economical compared with other ways of communicating,” said Ben Edwards, who works in strategic communications at IBM. “You can download it, it’s on demand, and you can take it with you wherever you go.”
Podcasts have been “propelled” by the broadband connections that facilitated the transfer of media content on the internet.
After Blinkx and Yahoo announced their podcast search service, the use of podcasts continues to grow. AOL is planning to launch a search service too.
The podcasts produced already by IBM are discussing about the change of the future that might be made by the computers. Banking, shopping, the networked home, automobile technologies like voice recognition, they all will be covered in the future podcasts.
IBM is also encouraging its employees to create their own podcasts by providing them the necessary tools.
