Heroes of Might Magic V: Hammers of Fate Expansion Announced

Heroes of Might&Magic, the game that made the strategy lovers slaves for life, received an expansion. Named Hammers of Fate, the expansion features a new race: the mighty dwarves.

The creator of the series, 3DO, passed the license to Ubisoft. Together with Nival they developed the fifth installement of HOMM5.

After some problems with the release of the game delayed because the players said that the game is not a true sequel to the series, Ubisoft released the first expansion for the series.

The expansion will bring forth the dwarves which will raise the number of races present in the game to seven. New spells, abilities, buildings and artifacts will also be added to the game. Single and multi-player maps will be available and of course a dwarven campaign with no more than 15 missions.

  • New faction: Introducing the brand-new Dwarves faction, made up of heroic warriors and rune magic adepts who stalk Ashan’s deepest mountains and most hostile regions.
  • A brand-new adventure: Featuring 15 new missions, new heroes, and improved cut-scenes, the new campaign will lead players even deeper into the dramatic events that began with Heroes of Might and Magic V.
  • Extended game experience: Includes a wealth of new spells and abilities, five new single-player maps, 10 new multiplayer maps, new buildings, new artifacts, and new neutral creatures, Heroes of Might and Magic V: Hammers of Fate gives players the tools to develop new tactics, and further their game experience both online and offline.
  • Improved mechanics and gameplay: Thanks to new features such as caravans and a random map generator, players will enjoy unlimited replayability and an even smoother gameplay experience. In addition, the simultaneous turn feature will speed up online games.

Also, Nival repaired its mistakes and developed a random map generator which will allow players to try new maps. Doing this, Ubisoft added some more addiction to the game. Go forth my brave ones.

However, they did not fix the computer’s heroes getting to just walk through all enemies on the board without taking damage. You can still have a level 12 enemy hero threatening your city on week #2. Thus, it’s still a game of “grab their city while they are out, fast, or you’re dead.”
