Considering a research made by the iResearch firm, China is going to be in the second MMO market next year.
It seems that China MMO market share will grow with 28% next year which will put it in the second place. At present, Korea holds the second place.
If China manages to grow with 28%, their annual revenues will be $970 million. And Korea will have an annual revenue of $960 million. But considering that Korea has only 49 million people and China 1.3 billion, it’s easy for China to reach this number.
Looking at the competition between China’s and Korea’s MMO firms, China has little to offer while Korea has NCsoft and Webzen who had major successes abroad. Shanda, one of the top companies from China is still focusing on the home market.
