ATI was proud to announce that leading system integrators and OEMs from around the world are bringing to market the powerful combination of ATI’s Radeon X1900 CrossFire multi-GPU graphics and the Intel Core 2 Extreme processor.
It looks like twins are better that single, at least in the computers world as both ATI and Intel are providing twin core computing solutions for their GPUs (graphical processing units) and CPUs (central processing unit) respectively.
The rendering horsepower of two ATI graphics cards in concert with the brawn of the new Intel Core 2 Extreme processor works to break down the barriers associated with traditional gaming, addressing GPU- and CPU-bound scenarios to produce leading image quality and performance in games. The result is ‘boundless gaming.’ Today through system integrators and OEMs, more than twenty ‘boundless gaming’ systems are available to gamers everywhere.
“ATI CrossFire and the Intel Core 2 Extreme processor represents PC gaming excellence today,” said Godfrey Cheng, director of marketing, platform technologies, ATI Technologies Inc., responsible for ATI’s CrossFire strategy. “The number of system integrators and OEMs worldwide backing the platform demonstrates the impact of combining these technologies.”
Savvy, Velocity Micro, Alienware, Voodoo PC, MESH, Armari, Evesham, Lohoo are all system integrators and OEMs and they all adopted the solution provided by ATI and Intel their gaming systems.
Other OEMs and system integrators worldwide including OverDrive PC, Systemax, All American Computers, ZTGroup, HyperSonic, CyberPower, iBuyPower, Maingear, Powerline Computers, and EUD Teknik are also introducing systems based on the Intel Core 2 Extreme processor platform combined with ATI CrossFire graphics.
