Asus Enters The Tablet PC Market

With many tablet PC on the market, it’s strange that Asus didn’t entered it before. But now it’s ready for it.

Named Asus R1F, they just presented their application to FCC. It is complete with pictures, manual and specifications.

What specifications? Well, let’s see.

Powered by a Core Duo processor, it has 802.11a/b/g wireless, GbE, Bluetooth, for connectivty, biometric security, slot-load DVD burner, ExpressCard slot, 3-in-1 media reader, three USB 2.0 ports, SPDIF out, TV-out and VGA out.

If you want more battery life, the tablet features a modular bay to accept a second battery pack instead of the optical drive.

Also, the panel of the R1F is rotating, so you can use it as a notebook or tablet PC.

Still, there is no price, but we can tell you that Asus is no cheap. So we might expect a pricey tablet.
