It seems that only one day after Apple launched their MacBook, problems seem to appear.
From a blog posted by a Apple user it seems that the matte black that comes with MacBook it very fragile and can be damaged easy. Like very easy.
This customer reports that he wanted to buy a MacBook, impressed by E3, and he went to an Apple shop. There he expected to see a lot of customers wanting a MacBook but he was amazed when only a few customers were there. The notebooks were having fingerprints on them and because of the black they were very visible. So one of the customers wanted to try to clean one of them to see how easy they can be cleaned and he found out that the notebook started flaking.
Of course that the sale representative pretended like nothing happened, but that was enough to make the customers think twice if they wanted a MacBook with this kind of problem.
We can’t be sure if all the black MacBook have this problem, but still.
Another problem with the new MacBook is the Xbrite display. It seems that if used outdoor or in poor conditions of light the display it’s not doing its job.
We are waiting for a statement from Apple and we will get back to you.

These comments were posted a long time ago but I’m here to tell you, I just bought a black MacBook and the fingerprint issue is huge — they are all over it and they don’t wipe off.

Please, why don’t you learn to spell flaking before you decide to open your mouth.

I just bought my black Macbook and within 3 weeks it already had major problems. Yes, the black Macbook does leave a lot of finger prints (I have a matted one). I mean….a lot of finger prints. But that isn’t the big issue, I’ve seen my Macbook crash on me 80% of the time I use it. Early this week, the laptop just didnt start up more, and if it did…..it would crash within 3 minutes (without even loading Mac OS). My guess is that the hardware of the computer has those problems, and the tech guys suggested that it would be the RAM o the Hard-drive (I’m a little skeptical). This also happens to be a fact for a number of people in my school who purchased the black Macbook. I haven’t heard any complaints with the white version.
I have no comment on the flaking part, but yes the black Macbook is problematic.

HUH? Fingerprints? My girlfriend has the Black Macbook and I happened upon your article. We are TRYING to put fingerprints on it at the moment for the sake of your post, and they show no mark, as opposed to my silver Macbook Pro which gets them quite easily. The Black Macbook has a MATTE FINISH!! Have you seen one in person? As for the display there simply aren’t the issues you mention.
Like any other electronic device it has its pros and cons but the things you mentioned don’t even make sense.
It reminds me of the line in the 40 Year Old Virgin when the main character said a woman’s breasts feel like sandbags…
