The new HP xw4400 Workstation provides unprecedented performance for the entry-level market.
If you are an engineer, a designer, a video editor or any other kind of power user, you should definitely take into consideration the new workstation from HP, which features the new Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processor and the 975X Express chipset.
The HP xw4400 Workstation is designed to deliver the performance and flexibility needed by mechanical computer-aided design engineers, architectural engineers, architects and other users in small and medium-size businesses, enterprises and original equipment manufacturers.
The new workstation is fully supported, and comes loaded with Microsoft Windows 32-bit or x64 and has a wide range of graphics, memory and storage options. Also, a wide range of graphic cards have been tested and certified by independent software vendors, to work with the xw4400.
Also highly expandable, the xw4400 is designed to facilitate print and electronic design, 2D animation, web authoring, video editing, and corporate content creation. Its dual-core capabilities deliver the fast computational rendering times formerly found only in Intel Xeon systems.
“With the xw4400, HP has proven that there’s no need to compromise performance for value,” said Graham Hawkes, nationally recognized engineer and founder of Hawkes Ocean Technologies. “HP workstations enable our team of engineers to efficiently design and build the industry’s most advanced submersibles so we can really push the envelope in deep sea exploration. By integrating test units of the xw4400 with our existing hardware, we’ve seen significant gains in speed and productivity and gained peace of mind that our workstations won’t let us down.”
Inside a convertible mini-tower tool-less chassis HP has included some neat features for the xw4400. The workstation can support up to 8 gigabytes of total memory to enable manipulation of large data sets, along with 64-bit Extension Technology, which provides support for enormous virtual memory addressing and the capability to run 64-bit operating systems and applications.
The xw4400 comes with a three-year limited warranty, which includes parts, labor and next business day on-site support. The xw4400 is expected to be available online, in major retail stores, through resellers or from HP direct in early August. HP suggest a price of under $1000.
