About submitting news
Delicious is a bookmarking site and Digg and Slashdot are community news sites. They allow you to share news and articles you find interesting with other people. If you want you can use the links to submit news you think would be of interest to others to these sites.
Submitting to Digg
To submit articles to Digg, you need to register.
Click the “Submit news to Digg” link and the URL for the news will be automatically filled in for you. Next, choose a suitable title, write a brief description and choose a category.
Submitting to Slashdot
Slashdot doesn’t require you to register to submit news. Click the “Submit news to Slashdot” link and fill in your name and email address, unless you wish to remain anonymous.
The subject will be automatically filled out, but you can change this to something you feel more relevant if you wish, then choose an appropriate section and topic for the news.
The last step is to provide a short description for the news. This is initially filled out with the title of the news and the URL, but you can change the summary to something you think is more appropriate. If the story is picked by the Slashdot Editors, then it’ll appear on the site.
Submitting to Delicious
To add an article to Delicious, you need to register for an account first.
Click the “Submit news to Delicious” link and the web address, description and notes fields will be filled out for you, but you can change the description and notes to something more relevant if you wish.
The next step is to add tags that relate to the news - you can add any tags you want. The aim of tagging is to enable other users to find relevant sites. So, if the news was about MSN Messenger, you might tag it with “Microsoft MSN Messenger”. When other users browse for items tagged with MSN, then the news you submitted will show up.
