1000 Contract Workers From Microsoft Go Home Unpaid

It seems that Microsoft is starting to cut down expenses to look good on the fiscal management.

Although Microsoft said is not over-budget, they said that they must cost costs on several departments. Also, they aid these types of cut-backs are a common way for technology companies to manage costs.

The people were asked to take seven working days off unpaid.

“It is fairly common within the industry, but not that common for Microsoft,” said Gellos, who declined to be more specific about what areas of the company were involved except to say that the development was “not critical.”

This announcement comes after the one that Microsoft told investors that they are expecting lower earnings due to increased spending. And this year analysts say that they will spend $2 billion more that it was originally expected to spend for 2007.

Of course that the delay of Vista and the poor XBOX sales are not helping them so they had to choose a way to cut down expenses. Too bad that it had to be this way.
